As the assistant director of community standards, it is your responsibility to administer college policies, investigate complaints and reports regarding potential student conduct policy violations, and provide ongoing training and indirect supervision to residence life staff on conduct processes. In this role you will adjudicate cases involving off campus and on campus students who violate college policies; determine sanctions for students found responsible for violating policies; counsel individuals regarding their rights and responsibilities; and assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of developmentally appropriate educational sanctions.

Responsibilities will include assessing data to support such efforts, managing the conduct database, serving on the on-call rotation for entire campus to respond to emergencies and provide guidance in crisis situations. You will also develop and implement appropriate strategies to educate the campus community on issues of student behavior and the conduct process. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with policies and procedural requirements of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of experience working with young adults/youth in an educational or group setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • At least two years of experience and/or training in higher education

Travel required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
