Unit Highlights

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Assistant Nurse Leader (ADON) for our IMC & ICU. This full-time position requires 40 hours per week from\reither 2pm-10:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm. No\rweekends or holidays are required.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for critical\rcare and a strong background in bedside nursing with progressive experience in\rleadership.

18 bed ICU and 12 bed IMC caring for many patient case types. This role also has some oversight with Code Blue and Rapid Response teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of\rNursing is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and\rleadership team. Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing in\rproviding leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department.
Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based\rprofessional and support personnel. Ensures the provision of holistic,\rculturally competent, and person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective\revidence-based nursing care for patients/families.
Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's\rshared/collaborative decision-making framework. Collaboratively manages the\rpatient's transitions across the continuum of care to assist patients and\rpopulations in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health and\rfunctioning.
The Assistant Director of Nursing assumes administrative and leadership\rauthority and responsibility during a specific shift (e.g., evening or night)\rfor the assigned unit/department. Fosters associates' commitment to improving\rquality, safety, and cost-conscious patient care outcomes.
Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adherence to\rregulatory and accreditation standards, and MedStar Health's policies and\rprocedures. Demonstrates leadership and behaviors which are consistent with\rMedStar's mission, vision, goals, SPIRIT Values, patient care philosophy, and\rsound moral and ethical judgement.

Qualifications
\r
    \r
  • BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • \r
  • 3-4 years progressive nursing care experience on an IMC or ICU required. Previous experience as a Charge Nurse or in a supervisory role highly preferred.
  • \r
  • Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
