The Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) will contribute to strategic planning efforts and program development efforts and will coordinate and manage multiple aspects of the Mary Amelia Center for Women's Health Equity Research (MAC), including several projects and initiatives. Duties will include supervision and management of center staff and student research assistants. ADO will be responsible for overall management of MAC research projects, evaluation activities, in addition to overseeing outreach and dissemination. ADO may also participate in select training activities as needed. The AOD will work closely with MAC leadership to shape program priorities, seek funding opportunities, and produce annual reports. Additionally, they will build partnerships within and beyond the university, representing MAC at events and coordinating activities with external collaborators. The ADO should also have a capacity for leadership, managing a diverse workforce, goal setting, and conflict resolution so that effectiveness and efficiency of MAC is maintained at a high level.• Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong abilities to work effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities.
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to coordinate program activities and staff.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.

• Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

• At least two years of management experience.

• At least two years of experience managing research and evaluation activities.

• Bachelor's Degree in a public health or social science related field.
• Extensive experience with research and research project management.

• Experience working with government and local community organizations. 

• Master's Degree
• Outreach and community engagement experience.

• Experience working in maternal and child, family, or women's health research.

• Experience interacting with diverse populations in the New Orleans community.
