The Assistant Director of Quality Enhancement reports to the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) and supports initiatives assigned to CTE from the Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and Research and the Vice Provost for Residential Programs and Student Success. The Assistant Director focuses on coordination of dual enrollment programming and support for student success through provision of recommendations from data analysis of existing programs. This position is a part time role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dual Enrollment Coordinator - 45%
  • Serves as the Dual Enrollment Coordinator between Liberty University and secondary schools.
  • Ensures university policies are followed for:
    Establishment of dual enrollment programs with secondary schools.

    Assessment of programs.

Quality Enhancement Consulting - 45%
  • Assess learning needs and suggests programs to enhance academic learning.
  • Assist programs assigned by reviewing data collection and management processes, suppling recommendations that are defined, documented, and clearly understood by stakeholders (e.g., department chairs, teaching faculty, students, etc.)
  • Supports accreditation activities and requirements as directed.

Supports CTE initiatives as directed - 10% Performs other duties as assigned and relevant to the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of K-12 teaching/administrative experience (preferably high school); 1-3 years of higher education teaching experience; Masters degree required with either an undergraduate or graduate degree in education.

  • Master's degree with either an undergraduate or graduate degree in Education.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a K-12 teaching/administrative role.
  • 1-2 years of higher education teaching experience.
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), databases, and spreadsheets.


Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of higher education teaching experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a teaching/administrative K-12 role, preferably high school.
  • Knowledge of dual enrollment.
  • Experience with data analysis and remediation plan creation.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
