Florida State University will soon embark on its next comprehensive campaign. As the silent phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional Alumni engagement professionals campus-wide and is excited to build out its team. Responsibilities

Responsible for the management, development, and organization of the alumni engagement events, outreach, and programs in the College of Fine Arts. Connects current students with alumni to increase experiential learning opportunities. Builds upon the College of Fine Arts infrastructure to develop and support alumni engagement and leverages alumni engagement best practices to advance relationships with the College.

Responsible for the development, management and organization of student and alumni engagement programming for the College of Fine Arts. This includes responsibility to engage current students, alumni, parents, friends, councils to advance the College of Fine Arts in line with the mission of FSU and the Division of University Advancement (DUA). Plan and manage opportunities to engage constituents through meaningful activities, communication and events that meet the strategic needs of the college and build support in experiential, communication, philanthropic, and volunteer activities. Develop and implement plan to connect current students with College of Fine Arts alumni; Conceptualize, implement, and manage event needs to meet college strategic goals including, but not limited to recognition outreach, volunteer management and other forms of engagement (both in-person and virtual strategies) resulting in identification for cultivation and stewardship opportunities. Support Dean in key priorities where alumni engagement is central to priority. Develop strategies in line with industry and Alumni relations best practices.

Actively cultivate content across units to amplify stories of alumni, parents and friends of College; Educate and inform internal and external stakeholders on philanthropic opportunities tied with programmatic and outreach efforts; Understand and manage budget process; Participate in enterprise-wide alumni engagement opportunities including but not limited to FSU Commencement three times per year, Seminole 100, and FSU Homecoming Activities - including staff, volunteer recruitment and nominations as relevant; Travel as needed to support development and Dean priorities with programs and events.

Collaborate with the development and advancement colleagues to manage and/or provide support to key volunteer groups including Advisory Councils through research, staffing, providing event support to inspire volunteer leaders; Partner with faculty and keep faculty informed as appropriate; support recruitment process and onboarding of volunteers throughout college; understand development goals as an integral part of informing outreach.

Cultivate and grow best practice in College of Fine Arts alumni engagement data management; seek and maintain data to evaluate current outreach, programs and engagement using surveys and other data to inform decision making and strategy; understand and leverage industry best practices for alumni metrics; develop strategy to support units to receive alumni data.

Serve as the College of Fine Arts liaison to the FSU Career Center and Alumni Campus Partners; leverage existing programming as appropriate including all Alumni Networks and Clubs to amplify the College; create meaningful opportunities with partnerships and collaborations across campus to promote College of Fine Arts alumni, parents and friends; ensure College of Fine Arts alumni are amplified/recognized in enterprise-wide award opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to seven years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
  • Valid FL or GA Driver's License or the ability to obtain.

What is a typical day? No two days are alike. Some days may be strategy and process focused, others may be interpersonal building relationships on behalf of the college and others may find you on-the-goal traveling on campus or regionally. This position can have non-traditional work hours and require stamina, a can-do spirit and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

What can I expect in the first 60-90 days? Your first few weeks will consist of a thorough onboarding. Many meetings and appointments will already be set for you so you are wondering where to begin. You will also get a staff mentor/partner and training across the division. You will rely on your previous experience to jump in and start making the role your own with support from the entire organization.
