Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Student Success will coordinate the operations of the success coaching initiative for undergraduate business students in the Wisconsin School of Business Undergraduate Program. They will oversee two outstanding Student Success coaches and be a member of the larger Student Success and Policy unit, which focuses on supporting students in navigating barriers and defining their path to success. The person in this role would also carry a caseload of students as a Success Coach and would meet regularly with students in both one-on-one and consultation settings.

They will also be involved in the day-to-day coordination and implementation of several key student success programs, including taking leadership on at least one student-facing programming initiative.

Responsibilities: Develops, evaluates and implements programs and recruitment efforts in order to support student success in various student affairs. Assists in the development of internal partnerships in support of program events and engages students related to advising, student conduct, or advocacy.
  • 25% Develops, plans, and directs staff implementation and operational work plans of one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, experiences, and/or services
  • 5% Evaluates and promotes short and long term existing strategies and makes recommendations for program enhancement
  • 20% Contributes to the design of student-focused programs and associated resources and materials to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • 25% Answers questions and provides information regarding student affairs resources to individual students and groups
  • 15% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 5% Identifies, develops, and facilitates unit staff training opportunities
  • 5% May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures

Required:
- 3 years of experience in higher education
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- 2 years of experience executing initiatives to support students thriving

Preferred:
- 2 years of experience working with young adults or students in an advising, mentoring, or learning support capacity
- Experience in case management, consulting, or referring
- Experience with event or program coordination and implementation
- Ability to work effectively and compassionately with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies
- A commitment to growth in supervision skills demonstrated through engagement with trainings or other resources
