Job Summary

Oversees, plans, develops, and implements the Club and Intramural Sports programs within the Department of Sports & Recreation. Supervises the operations and maintenance of assigned staff and programs, managing full-time Coordinators and potentially supervising student assistants, graduate assistants, and interns.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides guidance, oversight, and planning for the Club and Intramural Sports programs, including but not limited to budgets and financial planning, travel planning, program policy and procedures, risk management, and conflict resolution
2. Provides guidance and sound interpretation of University, Division, Department, and program policies, procedures, operations, and training processes
3. Oversees and guides intramural officials training, officer meetings, participant disciplinary matters, and team sanctions, and assists with extramural arrangements as needed
4. Builds and maintains cross-campus relationships to accomplish program goals involving University Relations, Legal Office and Risk Management Office
5. Serves as point of contact for new club programs and inquiries
6. Serves as Defensive Driver Course Instructor and CPR First Aide Instructor for department
7. Provides guidance alongside appropriate personnel and services for marketing efforts; concussion protocol and return to play; facility reservation and space allocations; and EAPs and risk management protocol.
8. Provides on-site risk management for home games, including off-campus home sites; works late nights and weekends; travels between two campuses as needed
9. Provides mentoring, development, and supervision to assigned staff

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Current and valid American Red Cross AED/CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Required Experience
Four (4) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
One (1) year of supervisory experience

Computer and software skills necessary for the position
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
