Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under the general supervision performs various assignments in monitoring, engaging, implementation and coordination of the facility's community affairs-related programs. Collaborates with local community organizations, and various health care setting staff and administrations in generating broad community support for the efforts of the facility.

Task:
  • Coordinates community relations activities and programs among health care settings in assigned areas.
  • Provides technical assistance and serves as a resource contact to community relations activities and leadership.
  • Assists leadership with community relations activities in the development and establishment of local community advocates.
  • Shares educational information to specific population groups and expands the facility's community relations activities across various communities.
  • Assists in community relations program planning and development to advance community and patient engagement.
  • Conducts special studies and participates in special projects relating to community affairs, outreach, and public health, as directed.
  • Plans for meetings, conferences, presentations, and/or other educational programs that help support or increase the community's knowledge of our services.
  • Performs other related duties, as directed.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Science, Social Work, Public Health or related discipline and three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in the field of community relations, community organization, public health and/or social services in a public or private social or health agency; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have minimum of a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting agency.
