Key responsibilities:
- Design and development of PCBAs used in new electronic products ranging from simple hardware solutions to highly complex embedded processing systems.
- Develop detailed specifications based on requirements and implement PCBA designs in accordance with those defined requirements and/or specifications.
- Work with multi-functional teams to implement new algorithms related to energy delivery and tissue analysis in support of next generation intelligent surgical instruments.
- Collaborate with other design team members to evaluate and select electronic components during the development process and determine the best approach based on performance, cost, and resources.
- Support hardware development through schematic design and PCBA layout.
- Document ideas, designs, specifications, and instructions per design control processes.
- Support existing capital systems, including resolving field complaints and addressing part obsolescence.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- A minimum of 0-2 years of proven engineering capabilities required to develop and deliver medical devices
- Support development of design requirements based on user needs and product function
- Proven ability to assess technical feasibility of concepts
- Create engineering documentation related to assigned projects, such as technical reports and presentations
- Ability to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
- PCBA design experience including schematic design and PCBA layout
- Familiarity with FPGA design and the VHDL and/or System Verilog languages
- Strong collaboration and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated high initiative and self-starter
- Possess a growth mindset, adapting to challenges and interested in continuous improvement
