The Assistant Estimator assists in preparing estimates for engineering and design-build construction projects. This position will assist in preparing lump sum bids, proposals, unit cost, and quantities for various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
- Assist in quantifying scopes of work for material and labor pricing.
- Assist with soliciting, evaluating and pre-qualifying small and disadvantaged businesses and subcontractors.
- Assist in assembling and sending out subcontractor bid packages.
- Assist in preparing material, specialty and standard equipment pricing.
- Assist in preparing subcontractor labor market studies and pricing for bids.
- Assist in documenting cost history, data base management and estimating process.
- Assist in developing project summary schedules.
- Assist with the evaluating and conditioning subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Assist in presenting estimates to external and internal clients.
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant degree Required or
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Software knowledge such as Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI desired.
- Knowledge of document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
