ABOUT OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
We are a 22-bed Level IV Trauma Center
We consistently hold 1:4 nurse to patient ratios
We provide specialized treatment for cardiac, trauma, and stroke patients
We have been recognized for providing one of the fastest times to treatment for cardiac patients in the Seattle region
Many of our RNs are Daisy Award Winners
Our RNs work in close partnership with physicians, phlebotomists, and medical assistants. Our Emergency Department is fast-paced and a great match for RNs interested in supporting a diverse population from our local and regional communities. WORK SCHEDULE
Full time / 100% FTE
Mid shifts (11:00am-11:00pm)
Assistant Nurse Managers work three 12 hour shifts per week, plus an additional 4 hours per week of administrative time
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations
Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
Oversees patient placement and throughput
Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and Medical Assistants)
Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care
Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and workgroups
Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
Provides "just in time" feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of recent RN work experience, including RN work experience in an Emergency Department
Previous charge or supervisory nursing experience
Active ACLS
Active BLS
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
