The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric, and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Managers, the Assistant Nurse Manager coordinates and supervises personnel scheduling with an emphasis on safety, continuity, and acuity. May be required to provide nursing care to patients following both the Nursing Standards of Care and Practice and the established individualized treatment plan. Performs supportive and performance improvement duties as identified by the CNO. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

Job Duties Include:
  • Assists Nurse Managers and CNO in supervision of employees of the Nursing Units to ensure assigned duties are completed.
  • Develops daily staffing plan that stays within FTE guidelines established for the department, demonstrates understanding of correlation between FTE and patient census.
  • Assists with assigned duties or payroll and KRONOS and communication of related issues to nursing and CFO.
  • Performs assigned audits to include payroll, attendance, staffing analysis, and other assigned audits to meet compliance with UHS and regulatory standards.
  • Interviews applicants as needed, following HR policies and procedures; recommends the best-suited candidate for selection while following corporate guidelines.
  • Fulfills obligations as required as part of the Nursing Leadership on-call rotation.
  • Performs chart and unit audits to identify areas of needed improvement and establishes a plan or system for follow-up with a plan of improvement.

Qualifications

Education
  • Required graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • One-year supervisory experience required. Certain nursing and/or life experiences may serve as meeting experience requirements.
  • One-year multi-departmental scheduling/FTE management experience required.
Certifications/Licensure
  • Current KY RN licensure.
  • Crisis intervention certification required. This training is offered upon hire.
  • CPR
Other Skills
  • Must be able to complete all elements of crisis intervention training provided by the facility.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skill and problem solving expertise.
  • Knowledge of normal growth and development appropriate to the patient population.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and ability to delegate appropriately.
  • Possesses knowledge of Nursing Standards of Care and Practice and ability to integrate these in all aspects of nursing management.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations as they apply to areas of responsibility.
