UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Post Kidney Transplant Assistant Nurse Manager (RN3) to join our Transplant Services team.

This role is critical in providing successful oversight of our post-kidney transplant patient nursing care and case management, from transplant education teaching while patients are on 7SA, through immediate post-op clinics, and long-term follow-up acute care episodes. The position provides daily operational leadership of the core post KP team members, as well as oversees patient access, patient education, monitoring of patient progress and incidents of infection or rejection, plus accountability for the post-transplant regulatory requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Expert Practice - Provides expert nursing care.

  • Nursing Process - Systematically assesses the need for and the delivery of nursing services that meet patient care requirements, whether delivered directly or by the other nursing staff.

  • Education - Plans and coordinates mandatory continuing education.

  • Staffing - Reviews and makes leave request recommendations to manager.

  • QI - Participates in the development and monitoring of adherence to the QI plan.

  • Financial Management - Participates in developing transplant related budgets.

  • Leadership Establishes credibility and strong presence in day-to-day operation of service.

    Day shift.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Two years of professional nursing experience, including clinical nursing expertise in managing kidney transplant patient care. Prefer skills in transplant coordination/United Network of Organ Sharing and BSN.

    LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

    Washington State RN license required by start date.

    DESIRED

    BSN preferred.
