The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of North Carolina Wilmington ( UNCW ) invites applications for a tenure-track position in macroeconomics at rank of assistant or associate professor.
We have an active department that collaborates in scholarly research and has a student centric focus through extracurriculars such as student clubs, Fed Challenge (and other applied learning opportunities), student research, mentorship, etc. A successful candidate will be expected to participate in the life of the department through research, teaching, and service.

This role will support the B.S. and B.A. degrees in economics, and may at some point be called upon to support one of the master’s programs such as our MBA or MSF .
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should hold a PhD in Economics or related field with a specialization in macroeconomics from an AACSB or equally accredited business school and must be capable of developing a strong research agenda and excellent/dynamic teaching.
Applicants must have confirmation of earned doctorate by August 1, 2025, prior to the start of appointment to be eligible for employment. Candidates who are currently completing their PhD and expect to finish by the appointment date are welcome to apply.

The Department of Economics and Finance at UNCW contributes four concentrations (finance, economics, real estate, and fintech) to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as housing the Bachelor of Arts in Economics Degree and the Master of Science in Finance. In addition, the department actively supports the Master of Business Administration program as well as the International MBA program, a joint program with international partner schools. The Department actively encourages faculty and student engagement through student clubs in addition to other programs such as Fed Challenge, CFA Challenge, the student managed investment fund, and honors research projects. The department also prides itself on an improving research portfolio and collaborative work within the department.
