Position Purpose

The Criminal Justice & Criminology Program at the University of Central Missouri ( UCM )
is searching for one (1) tenure-track appointment. Candidates with demonstrated skills and experience in teaching and research in juvenile justice and/or corrections are highly desired.
The appointment is a 4/4 load or an option of a 3/3 load with a research release.

Minimum requirements include the ability or potential to teach core courses in the area of Criminal Justice and Criminology within the current curriculum, participation in appropriate academic service, and involvement in professional and scholarly development activities.

Preferred candidates are those with a demonstrable commitment to scholarly and professional activities, the instruction and mentoring of both undergraduate and graduate students, a
readiness to participate in departmental, college, and university service, as well as an ability to
contribute to distance learning opportunities.

The Criminal Justice and Criminology Program is housed in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. The program currently has 12 full-time faculty positions with approximately 460 majors.

considered. A candidate will have one year to complete the terminal degree and will hold the
title of Visiting Assistant Professor while ABD .
