Description

UT Health East Texas is seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician to serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Primary responsibilities will include precepting, teaching, and advising. The attending Physician will spend majority of time precepting in the Internal Medicine Continuity Clinic with the remaining dedicated to performing administrative and teaching duties for the Residents.

Requirements: Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Texas and board certified.

About this position:

  • The resident Continuity Clinic is located at the Family Circle of Care - West Gentry Health Center, and additional ambulatory clinic sites are located at the UT Health North Campus as well as local private clinic offices, all of which are within a short 15 minute commute from UT Health Tyler.
  • Sponsored by the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT), the region's only academic medical center, our institution welcomed our first class of Internal Medicine residents to Tyler in July 2020.


The UT Health East Texas Internal Medicine Residency Program is based at the UT Health Tyler hospital which is located within the heart of Tyler's midtown medical community. UT Health Tyler hospital is the flagship facility of the UT Health East Texas system and serves as the hub of the region's 10 hospital system, over 50 outpatient clinics, and over 600 physicians who serve over 1 million East Texans. As a 501 bed comprehensive medical facility with level 1 trauma center, the UT Health Tyler hospital serves the region's diverse patient population. The medical staff includes general internal medicine, hospitalists, and the full complement of medical subspecialty faculty who are eager to invest in training future physicians in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. UT Health Tyler hospital is the primary location for all inpatient rotations and electives.
