The Physical Therapy Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track position at the Assistant Professor of Practice rank to begin August 1, 2024.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The successful candidate has strong experience and documented success in teaching, scholarship, and service. We are seeking candidates with pediatric clinical background to complement current faculty experience. As a core faculty member, the candidate must maintain a scholarly agenda, advise and mentor DPT students, and participate in interprofessional education and collaboration. Additional experience with the CAPTE accreditation process is highly valued. Opportunities exist to maintain clinical practice.

The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Tennessee
• Minimum of 5 years full-time clinical practice as a pediatric physical therapist
• ABPTS board certified specialist in pediatric physical therapy
• Experience teaching pediatric content in a DPT Program
• American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member
• APTA Academy of Pediatrics member
• Evidence of APTA professional service at the national level
• Evidence of professional community service at the regional and/or national level
• An active research agenda with scholarly dissemination
• Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC's strategic plan
• Demonstrate an ability to present a positive and professional attitude when engaging with students, colleagues, clinical partners and clients, the local community, and the national professional community.
