The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry position. Responsibilities include providing child psychiatric clinical services within the Medical Center and to children and adolescents who live in the region served by the University of Virginia. These clinical services may include inpatient consultation liaison, emergency room, and/or outpatient work.
The incumbent is expected to participate in the supervision and training of psychiatry residents, child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, and medical students. The incumbent will be required to provide services in person and cover faculty call for nights and weekends in rotation with other faculty members. The division also provides telepsychiatry services to a number of rural, underserved locations in the state. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician with interests in patient care, academic psychiatry, teaching, and research.
Qualifications
Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent, and be board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the start date of the position. Salary and tenure status are contingent upon candidate qualifications. If hired as tenure-ineligible, part-time effort is available and will be discussed with candidates.
This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
