Position Summary
The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences ( SPPS ) Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a clinical-track (qualified rank), 12-month faculty member at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank, with expertise in pharmacy law.

Responsibilities:
Teaching:
The faculty member will be expected to coordinate and teach two pharmacy law courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum and an elective course in their area of expertise. The faculty member will provide an annual pharmacy law review course in June. The faculty member may be expected to maintain a clinical practice site in community pharmacy, where they will train IPPE students, APPE students, and postgraduate residents/fellows. It is estimated that teaching will represent 40-60% of the faculty member's effort distribution.

Research/Scholarship:
The faculty member will advance the research mission of the UB SPPS . They will engage in collaborative research while developing an independent research program in their area of expertise and will publish/present their work nationally/internationally. It is estimated that research/scholarship will represent 10-20% of the faculty member's effort distribution.

Service/Administration:
The faculty member will serve the Department, School, and University as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This will include, but is not limited to, active participation on committees, PharmD student admissions reviews/interviews, and student advising. It is estimated that service will represent 10-30% of the faculty member's effort distribution.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy
  • Minimum of one year of postdoctoral training or 5 years of pharmacy practice experience.
  • Candidates with a pharmacy degree must be licensed, or eligible for licensure in NY State.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree; Postgraduate Year 2 Specialty Residency or Fellowship; BCPS , or other relevant BPS certification.
  • Candidates must have a track record of research support and peer reviewed publications commensurate with appointment faculty rank.
