As a Construction Project Scheduler you will be accountable for planning and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that the goals or objectives of a project are accomplished within a prescribed time frame. The Project Scheduler will provide schedule updates as required for each project, prepares preliminary construction schedules from engineering plans and specifications, reviews contractor schedule submittals and prepares analysis, participates in the development of project phasing, prepares schedule forensic analysis of contract changes, and prepares integrated Master Schedule. Essential Duties
  • Develop, establish, and maintain all phases of the planning & scheduling effort for heavy civil construction projects
  • Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans.
  • Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements as scheduled. Participate in constructability and risk analysis.
  • Log project time-lines and maintain database of tasks and its status.
  • Log all new information into database and provide scheduled reports for contract coordination and reporting purposes.
  • Interact with project team and task managers to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around.
  • Suggest management of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules and client relations.
  • Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
  • Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Produce planning & scheduling deliverables including preparation of schedules, tracking of actual work against schedules, performing variance analysis studies, updating of weekly schedule
  • Performance of project control duties will be conducted utilizing Primavera scheduling software P6
  • BS degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred but not required.
  • 5 + years planning & scheduling experience in engineering and construction management using PRIMAVERA P6 software preferred but not required.
  • Extensive computer experience (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good "working-knowledge" of heavy civil construction planning
