The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill 4 Psychologist Supervisor- Management (Assistant Psychologist Director) positions between 4 regions. This position can be headquartered at various locations depending on the region. The incumbent will be expected to travel as needed between various locations listed below. The location you select on your application will determine which region you will be considered for. You can be considered for multiple regions.

Max Region position can be headquartered at: Waupun Correctional Institution, Green Bay Correctional Institution, Columbia Correctional Institution, or at Madison central office. This position will be expected to travel if needed to these institutions as well.

Central Region position can be headquartered at: Red Granite Correctional Institution, Dodge Correctional Institution, Oshkosh Correctional Institution, Oakhill Correctional Institution, Fox Lake Correctional Institution or at Madison central office. This position will be expected to travel if needed to these institutions as well.

North Region position can be headquartered at: Jackson Correctional Institution, Stanley Correctional Institution, New Lisbon Correctional Institution, Wisconsin Secure Program Facility, or at Madison Central Office. This position will be expected to travel if needed to these institutions as well.

South Region position can be headquartered at: Racine Youthful Offender Facility, Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, Racine Correctional Institution, Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, or at Madison Central office. This position will be expected to travel if needed to these institutions as well.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the leadership, facilitation, clinical direction, and oversight of Psychological Services and the administrative and clinical supervision of the psychologist supervisors at assigned facilities in the Department of Corrections Division of Adult Institutions. By functioning as a resource and providing expertise in mental health care, this position facilitates the effective management of patient care and psychological practice at both the Departmental and institution level. This position ensures the effective delivery of mental health services within and between Psychological Services Units and utilizes theoretical and evidence-based practices to plan, provide, implement and evaluate mental healthcare programs, policies and procedures as directed by the Mental Health Director and Psychology Director.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting base pay of $50.83/hour to $61.35.

Candidates in possession of a Doctorate of Psychology (or equivalent) may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $6.00 per hour and $5.00/hour add-on for WI Psychologist License.

Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.

A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

This position has the flexibility of a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule for approximately 3 days/week.

Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Must possess an active Wisconsin Psychologist license at time of employment. This license must remain active during employment.

Must obtain certification in CPR by the American Heart Association and training in use of the AED within three months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.

Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and will be required to meet State of Wisconsin fleet requirements.
