The Office of the Registrar at Pratt Institute is seeking a technically competent, detail-oriented Assistant Registrar for Academic Services who will oversee the building of the academic schedule each term, maintain data related to courses and students, as well as perform data analysis. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling of special events and systems that support this function.
The Assistant Registrar should demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills as they will work to solve problems and answer questions submitted by students, staff and faculty related to Pratt's academic policy. The ideal candidate will be an organized team player and have a collaborative working style.
On a typical day you will be required to:
  • Oversee the schedule of classes and ensure data is configured properly each term to allow for efficient registration.
  • Maintain the Degree Audit system within the Colleague student information system, ensuring system is coded to reflect current degree requirements.
  • Perform data analysis using Business Objects to answer questions related to courses, physical locations, as well as student progress.
  • Oversee the process of Academic Actions such as probation and dismissals.


Qualifications

Education:
  • B.A. or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Student Information Systems; use of a data analysis tool such as Business Objects.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new information.
  • tools and deploy them for best efficiency.
  • Must have the ability to work with diverse departments and resolve conflicts as well as work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have a demonstrated level of cultural competency.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $59,000 to $67,900.
This position will be onsite 5 days a week.
