Essential Job Functions

The Department of Marketing & Management in Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Marketing with a focus on Selling and Sales Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in Selling, Sales Management, and Marketing Research and to build impactful, extracurricular experiences for students passionate about selling.

The Cofrin School of Business values university-level teaching experience, the ability to teach a variety of classes related to the candidate's academic field and preparation, engagement in institutional, community, and professional service, and experience working in the world of business.

The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is growing in enrollment with programs in Marketing, Management, and Human Resource Management. The Department is supported by the newly opened Schwab Corporate Boardroom and ongoing efforts to establish the Marketing Hub and a new associated sales institute. The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business enrolls a large portion of our growing university's students. The college and departmental connections to the region and its business community are extensive.

This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay's mission-driven inclusive teaching and educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.

What You'll Do
  • Teach a normal load of undergraduate or graduate courses in marketing or related disciplines.
  • Develop and implement innovative courses and curriculum enhancement in areas of selling, sales management, digital selling and marketing research.
  • To teach general marketing related courses like Principles of Marketing, Consumer behavior and so on
  • Courses will be taught both face-to-face and online (in asynchronous and synchronous formats). The specific courses taught may vary from semester to semester, and successful candidates may be required to teach an occasional course at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus.
  • Perform intellectual activities, service, and professional engagement consistent with the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business expectations for a Teaching Professor.
  • Mentor students to increase professional development, career advancement, and engagement in experiential learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom (e.g., student organizations, sales competitions, etc.,).
  • Produce intellectual contributions consistent with position and rank.
  • Perform institutional and community service.
  • Contribute to ongoing program development within the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business.
  • Participate fully in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business AACSB accreditation efforts.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Marketing Research, or related discipline, at time of application
  • 3 years of professional selling experience with relevant sales related job title
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching
  • Evidence of a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with sales-related software and proficiency in Google Analytics and digital selling strategies are desirable
  • Experience teaching research methods to graduate and undergraduate students
  • Sales-related experience in the Northeast Wisconsin area

Conditions of Appointment

Position is a full-time, academic year, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits

SALARY INFORMATION

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
