General Description / Primary Purpose
The Assistant Vice President for University Development and Alumni Engagement will be reporting to the Vice President of University Development and Alumni Engagement. This position will oversee the following offices within the Division of University Development and Alumni Engagement: Donor Engagement and Stewardship, Alumni Engagement, and Annual Giving.

The AVP is a senior staff member and will be part of the UDAE senior team. The AVP will play a critical role in the growth of alumni engagement, creating cohesive, groundbreaking new strategies and outreach efforts for building commitment and engagement among UNF's alumni and friends.


Essential Duties

Job Function
The Assistant Vice President will develop and implement annual operating plans for respective areas. Recruit, supervise, support and evaluate all staff in Donor Engagement and Stewardship, Alumni Engagement, and Annual Giving.

Alumni Engagement - develop and implement a wide range of programs and services that will position UNF as an increasingly valued resource for its graduates including networking and career development opportunities. Increase the profile of the alumni engagement program through all available means including print and electronic communication, web presence, social media presence, awards and recognition efforts. Implement effective on and off-campus events and programs. Advocate to facilitate greater awareness of University attributes and aspirations to deepen connections between alumni and University faculty, staff and students. Develop and fulfill of data focused strategies including program dashboards and affinity models to support program planning, implementation and evaluation. Serve as primary liaison for the Alumni Association Board.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship - donor relations and communications, manage and award scholarships, central and campus wide stewardship events, and programming.

Annual Giving - oversee Annual Giving fundraising strategies.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to; Foundation Board committee support, programming and events, leadership and staff development, data acquisition and analysis, creating and implementing a comprehensive stewardship plan.

During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications
This position requires either (a) Master's degree from an in a directly related area of specialization and seven years of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelor's degree from an in a directly related area of specialization and nine years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 13 years of direct experience.
Faculty Position Required Qualifications
Departmental Requirements
Extensive knowledge of development practices, donor data processes, and fundraising techniques including current best practices in development, and alumni engagement.

Success in leading, mentoring, managing a strong professional team and will have knowledge of best practices in metric-driven, market-tested programs as well as demonstrated experience in raising six-figure gifts and up.

Experience leading a complex organization with multiple diverse constituencies through a time of deliberate program evolution.

Experience developing internal and external partnerships to support mission and goals of an organization by demonstrating collaboration and an entrepreneurial orientation.

Comprehensive fundraising campaign experience is preferred.

Experience in higher education.

Weekend and evening availability and some traveling.
