Description

Provide professional leadership and management for financial issues within University Information Technology (UIT) business services activities and processes. Oversees the Administration, Fiscal, Materials and Performance Management, Contract Administration, Work Control, Quality Assurance, Communications and project portfolio functions within UIT.
  1. Applies principles of accounting to compile and analyze financial data responsible for planning, forecasting and managing budgets effectively. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring controls are developed and implemented to assure equipment and supply costs are within budget guidelines.
  2. Oversees the preparation process of various financial statements, reports and account reconciliations.
  3. Directs the coordination of the UIT Business team to ensure UIT business services are consistently and effectively provided.
  4. Analyzes UIT financial statements, cost controls and expenses to pinpoint weak areas and guide business leaders accordingly.
  5. Oversees the UIT purchasing function while ensuring compliance with university, state and federal regulations as they pertain to purchasing.
  6. Manages and oversees departmental policies, procedures, objectives and initiatives to optimize resources and to effectively respond to customer requirements and requests. This may include but is not limited to developing and reporting on service level agreements to ensure adequate support and services are provided with the appropriate allocated budgets.
  7. Oversees the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of professional and technical staff and ensures resolution of problems while setting priorities, establishing workloads and providing support in decision-making instances.
  8. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow, studies and standardized procedures to improve workflow efficiency and quality assurance.
  9. Monitors the department's project delivery commitments and performance against quantitative and qualitative measures including resource availability, value delivery, outcomes and organizational impact, and customer satisfaction.
  10. Envisions, develops, and implements a customer-centered architecture for the continuous assessment and improvement of UIT agility and project delivery processes, with a focus on consistent, high-quality outcomes and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  11. Leads financial benchmarking geared directly towards UIT to include but not limited to building out peer groups with IT specialties, preparing benchmarking reports and establishing KPI and Dashboards to report UIT performance as part of the larger university mission.
  12. Maintains, implements and reviews the KPI collection and reporting process for UIT. Serves as liaison with executives and administrative offices regarding fiscal and operational issues.
  13. Identifies, builds and maintains relationships with critical UIT vendors
  14. Reports vendor performance as part of the overall IT service portfolio of UIT. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Masters and 7 years experience

Education: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
