About This Role:

The Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Kansas State University, is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in the area of plant nematology. This Faculty position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment with an approximately 90% Research and 10% Teaching distribution of effort.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Applicants must possess Ph.D. degree in Plant Pathology or related disciple with strong component in plant nematology
  • Demonstrated research excellence with the desire to mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Strong communication skills with a desire to teach and a commitment to expand and foster diversity
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills that would facilitate work with diverse multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Research experience related to plant parasitic nematodes of economically important crops
  • Background in data analytics and applied statistics for plant disease
  • Ability to acquire extramural funding to build and maintain an active research program
