Department Summary

The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is excited to announce the formation of its College of Nursing. The new college will help address the shortage of nurses in Texas, which has the second-fewest nurses per capita in the U.S.

The new College of Nursing will join five other colleges and schools offering degree programs at HSC: the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, School of Health Professions and College of Pharmacy.

Position Overview

UNT Health Science Center (HSC) College of Nursing is seeking applications for multiple faculty positions. The successful candidate will teach courses, conduct research, advise students, and engage in service to the department, university, and profession. The position is open rank and may be a tenuretrack or non-tenure track appointment, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

-A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field or a Master' Degree based on rank.
-A valid nursing license in the state of Texas or eligibility for licensure.
-Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
-A record of scholarly research and publication in nursing or related fields.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.

Job Duties:
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses in assigned areas of expertise.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching, research, and service.
  • Maintain an active role in the nursing profession through participation in professional organizations, community outreach, and other related activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing programs and curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and university committees and service activities.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to nursing students.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
  • Engage in research and scholarship in nursing or related fields.
  • Develop and revise course content and instructional materials in accordance with departmental and university standards.
