Job Description
This faculty position is in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics & Medical Epidemiology within the School of Medicine and is open to applicants at all ranks on the tenure/tenure track or non-tenure track, focused on Precision Medicine.
The department seeks highly motivated individuals with a passion for scientific discovery, improving healthcare, and informatics. Be part of a rapidly growing team developing informatics to further research and serving a dynamic community of researchers across the University of Missouri.
Responsibilities will include designing and implementing interventions that apply precision health innovations at the practice and community level. The position is expected to support 1-2 graduate students or a Post-Doctorial Fellow on startup funds, establish NIH funding within 3 years or bring existing NIH funding, and teach in MSc/PhD programs. Two-to-five-year goal to build a research program based on population. Three-to-five-year goal of helping develop GWAS or Pharmacogenomics for biobanking.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: PhD or MD-PhD
Candidates will be evaluated on:
-Existing NIH funding
-Expertise in Applied Pharmacogenomics, Genetic Epidemiology, or Health Economics
-Expertise in integration into clinical workflows and EHR informatics Experience with "All of Us" or equivalent national precision health program
-Experience in bioethics and other ELSI topics
-Experience in DEI and patient engagement
-A history of federal funding or major foundation funding, and population health research and/or implementation science expertise that aligns with our research foci and the SOM and Precision Health priorities.
-Experience in Precision medicine and lead the emphasis area in the PhD

The department offers a master's degree in health informatics (MS), as well as graduate certificates in healthcare project management, health ethics, and health informatics. Students may pursue master's degrees on campus through our residential program or primarily online through our executive program for working professionals.
