Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking qualified individuals to join our Aeronautical Systems Engineering team as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will learn to apply basic engineering design principles to develop detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations. Mechanical Engineers have the opportunity to utilize world-class, solid modeling CAD tools on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on numerous aircraft platforms.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in research, development of layouts, and preparation of engineering drawings
  • Coordinate design activities with various departments, such as Tool Design, Flight Sciences, and Production, to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost
  • Ensure design success from the initial concept, through the design phase, procurement and manufacturing, completion of the installation modification, and field support of delivered products

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering or related field

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Co-Op/Intern or previous entry-level experience in mechanical engineering
  • Skills/Knowledge of CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter
  • Understanding of basic aircraft systems
