Job Description:

Production Planning converts engineering drawings into work instructions and bills of materials driving procurement, shop fabrication, assembly and HDL installation. Plans, prepares, handles issues, controls production schedules, and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.

Essential Functions:

  • Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge. Works under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks.
  • Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information. Contributes to systems and processes changes in work routines.
  • Works to achieve operational targets that impact team results.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
  • Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Communicate status and needs with crossfunctional teams including various internal and external customers (i.e. quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, inventory control, etc.)
  • Must track multiple projects with varying complexity to completion with limited supervision assistance.
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders; stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Position requires the ability and willingness to support any shift.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.


Qualifications:

  • Requires broad theoretical job knowledge. Bachelor's Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to interpret Government, FAA, and Company Aviation Safety regulations.
  • Ability to read\\interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and general aviation knowledge.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Possess a working knowledge of military, commercial, or general aviation aircraft.
  • Experienced in MS Office Applications
  • Strong communication skills
  • SAP
  • Lean or Six-Sigma Training
