Jefferson Health's North Region is seeking an Associate Chief Medical Officer to lead medical care at Lansdale Hospital and Einstein Montgomery Hospital. Reporting to the ChiefClinical Officer of the North Region, this role will collaborarte with the Chief Operating Officers, Associate Chief Nursing Officers, Department Chiefs, and Medical Staff teams.

At least 5 years of leadership experience in clinical operations, ideally gained with a large healthcare system.

Reporting to the ChiefClinical Officer of the North Region, this role will collaborarte with the Chief Operating Officers, Associate Chief Nursing Officers, Department Chiefs, and Medical Staff teams.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide leadership related to medical care, including but not limited to medical protocol development, utilization review and quality and compliance and policy development.
- Be a liaison for JEM/JLH to appropriate medical staff committees including Medical Staff Board/Medical Executive Committee.
- Review and make recommendations as necessary to review the Medical Staff bylaws, policies and procedures.
- Review records and reports of patient service to promote quality and safety of patient care, ensuring that Department Chairs perform Focused and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE and OPPE, respectively) of all members of the Medical Staff in compliance with the standards of the Joint Commission.
- Oversee Peer Review Process and development of protocols and procedures related to peer review. Ensure appropriate reporting of clinical adverse events and near-misses. Participate clinical incident investigation and participate in the Root Cause Analysis as needed. Report through established mechanisms and protocol on all quality and safety measurements.
- Serves as a representative of JEM/JLH in licensure and accreditation processes such as Joint Commission, Department of Health licensure, etc. Assures medical staff compliance with organizational policies and ensures continuous readiness for regulatory bodies. Develops and implements corrective action plans as required.
- Represent and advocate for JEM/JLH and its physician members in discussions with leaders as it relates to business planning and operational decisions.
- Work closely with COO, administrative and physician leaders and practitioners to solve current issues, improve the overall operations, and plan ahead on future strategies for growth and development.
- In conjunction with Department Directors, Department Administrators, Department Chiefs and Chairs, determine the organization and structure of clinical and support services.
- Prepares, administers, and monitors revenue, capital and operating budgets for assigned departments in conjunction with the administrative team.
- Ensures that assigned departments establish, maintain and evaluate policies and procedures and systems to support the quality improvement programs within JNE including but not limited to LOS, CMI and other KPIs.
- Special projects as assigned including data analysis and benchmarking.
- Ensure that the physicians and hospital services provide an excellent patient experience.
- Manages Medical staff office and oversees credentialing and privileging process.
- Communicates and shares information with staff on a regular basis. Keeps medical staff informed of new policies, procedures, new programs and other pertinent information.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by supervisor.
- Leaders are expected to round once per week. The definition of leadership rounding is: visiting with patients, customers, and staff on a consistent basis to observe, ask about, hear, and feel what is happening. It is also a time for positive coaching, sharing expertise, supporting staff, addressing concerns, teaching, inspiring, and communicating.
