Phoenix, Arizona
Employer: Mayo Clinic
Industry: Research
Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time
Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arizona (MCCCC-Arizona) seeks an accomplished community outreach professional and researcher with a record of successful community engagement in a cancer center setting. The Associate Director, Community Outreach and Engagement (AD-COE) will have a scholarly record of collaboration in community outreach in a similar catchment area, with distinguished academic credentials. The next Associate Director will be an outstanding scholar with expertise in cancer population sciences and community engagement research with a proven record of achievement and demonstrated ability to lead and sustain an extramurally funded research program and an Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. Successful candidates could come from a variety of academic disciplines and could also have a clinical practice.
The MCCCC AD-COE in Arizona plays an integral role in this innovatively structured enterprise. The NCI recognizes the MCCCC as an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with three locations in Arizona, Florida, and Rochester, Minnesota/Midwest. The MCCCC will remain a fully integrated cancer single center across three U.S. sites and each site will collaborate across the enterprise to achieve a transformational strategy that builds on unique strengths and opportunities at each site. Simultaneously, it is the intention of MCCCC to significantly deepen the research, practice, clinical trials, and community engagement activities at each of the three sites in line with the NCI P30 Cancer Center Support Grant criteria. In this framework, the AD-COE in Arizona will be responsible for deeply engaging the unique catchment of Maricopa County as well as serve patients who seek care from across the nation.
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, the Associate Director will be a Mayo Cancer Center Career Scientist, meaning their position will be fully funded by the cancer center, akin to an endowed chair role.
