Job Description

The Associate Director, Field Planning & Incentive Compensation, Enterprise is a strategic leadership role which applies consulting, analytic, and communication skills to develop, manage and promote field force deployment and analytics throughout the Medical Affairs, Market Access and AbbVie Patient Services field organization. This role is also responsible for the strategy, design and implementation of Market Access Incentive Compensation. This role works closely with VPs, TA Leads, field leadership, vendors and other internal commercial teams to support overall Medical/Market Access/AbbVie Patient Services objectives.

This is a hybrid role and requires the ability to come to our Mettawa, Illinois office at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand TA & function priorities and formulate strategies using advanced analytics and field knowledge to identify Expert Panels (HCP targeting), Payers and to estimate workload for teams.
  • Develop strategy and implement Market Access Incentive Compensation SPIFFs/contests for market events in partnership with Market Access Marketing leadership.
  • Develop and deliver formal presentations to leadership and providing recommendations for team sizing, structure and other strategic initiatives.
  • Drive multiple complex projects, balancing between short-term and long-term objectives and managing the projects within budget and timelines. Leverage data, analytics, leadership skills and strong strategic mind-set to optimize field operations.
  • Responsible for hiring, evaluating performance, career development of direct reports and leading a team to maximize support for the Medical Affairs, Market Access and AbbVie Patient Services field organization with the design and deployment of field teams.
  • Consult with Director & Vice President level stakeholders on a regular basis to understand strategic and tactical issues, review research plans, and negotiate priorities. Provide teams with benchmarking reports and competitive intelligence across different AbbVie disease states.
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and design and deploy new solutions that are innovative, cost effective, add value, and meet current and future business requirements.
  • Utilize skills in advanced analytics-based applications including ACCESS, Excel, SPSS, R, and Python to develop initial universe of HCPs/accounts based upon Field Medical's objectives, as well as analyze Field Team sizing and align geographic territories utilizing Javelin Territory Designer.
  • Collaborate with peers, Franchise Liaisons, Integration teams, and other Commercial leadership on a regular basis for IFTe and other brand strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of vendor relationships on a day-to-day basis. Ensure vendor-assisted projects are managed within budget and timeline and appropriate methodologies are employed.


Qualifications

  • BA, BS degree in a quantitative discipline or Business Administration required.
  • Minimum 8 years analytical experience and/or commercial operations experience required. Problem-solving orientation; ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with leadership to solve problems and identify/sell/implement solutions.
  • Must exhibit proficiency commensurate with grade in the following competencies: strategic thinking, problem-solving, innovation, collaborative partnerships across functions, analytical capabilities, leadership, drive for results, and communication for greater team effectiveness.
  • Experience with data sources used within AbbVie for pulling HCP and Patient data.
  • Knowledgeable of a variety of PC programs (including, but not limited to Excel, SPSS Modeler, SAS, Access, PowerPoint), database querying and analytical skills such as regression, clustering, machine learning and other advanced statistical skills.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and strong communication skills resulting in the ability to anticipate customer and business needs and address questions or issues. Demonstrates an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple, yet compelling fashion.
  • Learns, fast, grasps the "essence" and can change the course quickly where indicated Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo; Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation and manages innovation to reality.
  • Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry data and therapeutic area to resolve business problems more efficiently and effectively
