Job Summary

The Associate Director for Industry Relations primarily develops and implements strategies to identify and cultivate relationships with employers across various industries and provides overall management of the industry relations program for all undergraduate and several graduate programs.

Essential Functions
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Outreach, networking, and establishing industry partnerships to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate recruitment events such as career fairs, information sessions, and on-campus interviews and work closely with employers to understand their hiring needs and connect them with qualified candidates.
  • Developed and implemented an annual job shadow program from inception to execution.
  • Design program guidelines, objectives, and procedures to ensure a structured and meaningful experience for participants and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify suitable hosts and match them with interested students or professionals.
    • Develop and promote an annual employer relations calendar (employer visits, interviews, fairs, etc.), including all processes, timelines, and deadlines.
    • Collaborate with career services staff to develop and present workshops, seminars, and other programming to enhance students' job search skills and career readiness.
    • Coach students and alumni in one-on-one job search appointments to navigate the job market.
    • Maintain accurate records of employer interactions, job postings, and student placements to analyze data and evaluate employer relations initiatives' effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, accomplishments, and areas of concern.
    • Manage the budget for employer relations activities, including expenses related to events, marketing, and technology.
    • Collaborate with academic departments to support existing and develop new opportunities, serving as a liaison between employers and departments to promote student opportunities in and out of the classroom.
    • Market and educate employers on using Handshake, including providing support with questions related to profile development, job postings, application processes, and other general questions.
    • Oversees the recruiting database, including monitoring job postings, events, and career fair registrations and creating database usage reports.
    • Research and interact with regional employers willing to sponsor international students for H1- B visas.
    • Examine and develop policies for employer participation in the recruiting program, including acceptable methods of employer outreach/marketing and recruiting efforts, adherence to university procedures, and ethical and professional conduct standards in accordance with NACE guidelines and relevant laws/regulations.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

    Education:
    • Master's degree in psychology, business administration, public administration, human resources, or a closely related field

    AND

    Experience:
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in recruiting or work in a career center.
    • Knowledge of Higher Education
