KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Operations Excellence to join our Operations organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead process transformations as assigned, including discovery, prioritization, current state, future state, control and sustainability, and business case development and realization; drive alignment on vision through clear communication and direction on identified business challenges, in-scope activities, and best-practice approaches for solutioning
  • Apply advanced knowledge of process reengineering, operations excellence, continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools, best practices, and departmental processes to evolve and iterate the firm's operations excellence strategy while providing thoughtful analysis in real-time with a focus on vision, value, speed, talent, and benefits realization
  • Understand firm services and identify opportunities to better serve internal clients with an operations excellence mindset; efforts will consider firmwide areas for optimization including the Audit, Tax, Advisory practices; regularly interface with partners and professionals to provide guidance and resolve questions of intermediate complexity; analyze and make recommendations to meet client needs/expectations based on an advanced understanding of the business and firm service offerings
  • Work autonomously, leading programs, projects, or processes; independently make decisions and identify the more nuanced and complex situations that necessitate consult with senior management
  • Analyze, summarize, present, and proactively initiate ideas for process improvements and other innovations designed to create significant client value, process efficiencies, and/or enhanced quality; contribute to tactical plans and oversee progress with focus blended on execution of work product and tactical planning
  • Provide active coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing with junior staff to advance their career development; manage and review those team members' work product; contribute to planning for short term needs, such as, projects and processes; may construct annual plan for deployment of those resources; may have people management responsibility for a small to mid-sized team of entry level through intermediate level professionals

Qualifications:
  • Minimum six years of recent experience developing and deploying lean strategy
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with operations excellence, and implementing a variety of Lean tools and methodologies in a large organization such as: Hoshin, Value Stream/Process Mapping, Strategy Deployment, A3 Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard Work, Diagnostics, Tiered Visual Management with Performance Metrics, Demand and Capacity Management
  • Demonstrated proficiency and passion for Lean methodology, tools, and process improvement; Black Belt preferred
  • Ability to manage programs and projects, applying expertise to make concrete decisions that impact the organization and the firm; capability to handle conflict resolution well, facilitating discussion and alternatives of different approaches with an enthusiastic and positive, high-energy attitude
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; foster the development of high-performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization; capability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities
