The Associate Director Medical Clinical Ops will support the MedExpress virtual Medical Weight Loss program (vMWL). This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the vMWL program providing direction related to the operational and administrative functions, activities, care delivery, and performance of the program and personnel. Responsibilities include the managing, planning and coordinating operations of the program including but not limited to: Staffing activities (hiring, onboarding, training, and managing schedules), establishing goals, providing direction, managing clinic personnel, monitoring delivery of patient services and clinic performance, informing program design and operational workflow improvements, and acting as the primary liaison with patients, internal stakeholders and contracted provider groups. This position directly impacts the customer satisfaction, clinical performance, quality, and patient safety.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours EST

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead an interdisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical professionals across the virtual national medical group
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the medical weight loss program
  • Work collaboratively with clinical providers and medical/clinical operations to ensure successful program delivery
  • Ensure standards of care are implemented and in compliance with all state and federal regulations, standards of practice, and company policies and procedures
  • Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for clinical operations program and provide input to product and service line to support scale and growth of the vMWL program.
  • Develop functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans and organizational priorities to ensure financial viability.
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems across teams and business support functions.
  • Identify and implement business optimization to support growth and scale of the medical weight loss program.
  • Participate in P&L oversight and management with goal to meet or exceed budgeted IOI.
  • Assess and ensure program delivery and performance meets contractual commitments with focus on maintaining excellent customer standing and satisfaction.
  • Primary liaison with patients, internal stakeholders and customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years health care industry experience
  • 4+ years clinical management experience including
    • Clinical personnel management including hiring/termination and performance evaluation
    • Developing and managing operating budget > 1,000,000
    • Evaluating clinical services to maximize use of clinical resources and identified opportunities to streamline processes and cost effectiveness
  • Experience leading teams remotely
  • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership effectiveness, negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated experience in building high performing teams
  • Willing to travel up to 25%

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
