Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the OD&D leader on Optum Health's People team by providing organizational design & development expertise across Optum Health's organization of ~80k+ staff. Serve as the OD liaison to the Optum Health Transformation Management Office
  • Build and implement an OD&D strategy, approach, and tangible deliverables that are aligned with organizational priorities
  • Bring extensive organizational design experience and expertise to lead market, solution, and functional leaders to assess business/function-specific organization design projects and processes to enhance both operating effectiveness and productivity
  • Use expertise, data, and relationship-building to help influence and build consensus around decision-making related to organizational design
  • Build a reputation for consistency, quality, impact through a hands-on approach to the design and delivery of organizational design projects. Ensure that systematic methods of measuring quality and impact are in place
  • Independently lead and support organizational design and development projects that improve people processes, structures, measures, and accountabilities with the ultimate goal to optimize the deployment of internal resources to achieve superior business results
  • Create and deliver design workshops with internal stakeholders to gain adoption of future state
  • Contribute to the design of both formal and informal governance structures and processes that facilitate efficient decision-making; highlight and address cross-functional interdependencies
  • Prioritize and know when to focus on current state diagnosis, capability building, and stakeholder management across a diverse set of integrated and not-yet-integrated businesses
  • Provide strategic oversight to project change and communications strategies, and work with the change enablement and communications leaders to drive impactful change and communication tactics; act as a change agent supporting complex transformational efforts
  • Partner with key stakeholders including business leaders, senior human capital partners, people analytics, and talent business partners to provide strategic oversight to talent management strategies
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging practices in the field of Organization Development. Engage in networks and forums, sharing best practices with peers. Your commitment to growth fuels our collective progress

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in organization design, development, and change management
  • Global organization development experience
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Proven leadership presence and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven advanced facilitation skills for positive collaboration
  • Proven solid consulting and diagnostic abilities
  • Proven self-awareness and positive leadership impact
  • Proven strategic collaboration and relationship building
  • Proven passion for driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Process or design thinking experience
  • Global experience
  • Proven passionate about experimenting with new ways of working to shift the talent approach and bring to life enterprise talent principles

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
