As the Associate Director of Procurement and Sourcing, you will be challenged to lead the strategic sourcing, procurement and contracting efforts for human capital, legal services and other indirect spend categories as assigned. The successful candidate for this role will have strong experience with the full sourcing & procurement process, analytical and risk management skills, and exceptional relationship management and consultative skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to identify risk and contract around it appropriately as well as the ability to lead and manage multiple projects and tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead and execute category management, sourcing/RFx, vendor management and financial analysis efforts across the Enterprise in human capital, legal services and other indirect spend categories as assigned
  • Review, develop, redline, and negotiate complex third-party vendor contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and amendments in cooperation with legal, internal stakeholders and external business partners
  • Support end-to-end procurement process from sourcing through contracting, and ongoing vendor management
  • Develop impactful SLAs or key performance indicators (KPIs) for a supplier's services
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to support business objectives, revenue growth opportunities, supplier innovation and expense reductions
  • Lead and execute market research, benchmarking and spend analysis as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Manage and supervise the work of others as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Business or related undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation and Contract review, development and drafting experience
  • Demonstrated competitive sourcing/(RFx) development and management experience
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels and work across multiple departments, teams and deliver quality results
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targeted, positive outcomes and results
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects and tasks, and effectively prioritize work
  • Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or JD
  • Experience with MS Office; solid Excel and Power Point skills
  • Experience with Ariba

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
