The Role / Summary:

The role will focus on data analytics and visualization. There will be a range of data, analytical and research functions with the main focus on post-default workout/ultimate recovery analysis. This role also requires maintenance of internal LevFin databases, proprietary spec-grade indicators, and participation in/contributing to research publications. The analyst will interact with Moody's Analytics, support clients' data queries, participate in investor outreach, and assist with publications of LevFin periodicals and specialty LGD research projects, including Private Credit research. Generative AI will be incorporated.

Responsibilities: `
  • Post-default Workout/Debt Recovery Analysis (35%): Perform detailed analysis on post-default workout and corporate debt recovery, requiring strong research skills, attention to detail, ability to quickly read through SEC filings, court dockets (utilizing Generative AI is a plus).
  • Data Management and Client Support (20%): Work with large data sets using Excel and Access. Interact with Moody's Analytics regarding the golden source of their DRD product; Support clients with data queries and participate in client outreach related to published LGD research.
  • Maintenance and Publication of Moody's Proprietary Indicators (20%): Assist the lead analyst in maintaining Moody's proprietary spec-grade indicators. There will be opportunities to participate and eventually take over some of the quarterly publications.
  • Specialty LGD Project Support (15%): Gather and scrub data for specialty LGD projects, demonstrating strong research, data visualization, and writing skills
  • Internal LevFin Dataset Maintenance (10%): ensuring accuracy and consistency of data.


Qualifications:
  1. BS/ MS in Finance, Accounting, Investments ( min GPA of 3.8)
  2. Relevant experience of 1-3 years in credit/financial/ restructuring/ accounting data analysis and interpretation
  3. Strong Research and Data Management Skills: familiarity with SEC filings, court dockets, FACTIVA news is a plus
  4. Knowledge of Bloomberg terminal (required) , FactSet (optional)
  5. Strong MS office skills: The ability to work with large data sets using Excel and Access is crucial ( knowledge of pivot table, vlook-ups, charting in excel is essential) ; ability to visualize data and produce infographics for presentation decks, research
  6. Individual must be organized, able to multi-task and manage priorities, display initiative, and have the ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  7. Great interpersonal, communication and client relationship skills
  8. A quick learner with a very high level of attention to detail
  9. Basic Knowledge of Credit Markets and the credit agency functions/ nomenclature is a plus

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$65,000]] to [[$94,250]], depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
