Associate Manager, Demand Planning

Position Summary :

The Associate Manager, Demand Planning, helps to run the forecasting engine which drives FreshDirect's product procurement. This role creates product forecasts based on anticipated customer demand to maintain strong in-stock positions and service levels. Responsibilities include running weekly forecasting processes and collaborating with various teams to achieve drive forecasting accuracy. Effective communication with non-technical colleagues is essential, as is an appetite for continuous learning and process improvement.

Essential Functions :

• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of demand forecasts by Base-Material-Plant-Day for the next 90 days (in base units).
• Run weekly forecasting process and participate in continuously improving the forecasting process.
• Responsible for interpreting complex data from multiple sources.
• Execute and review statistical forecast model using software.
• Achieve consensus for forecasts by collaborating with merchandising, purchasing, marketing and operations teams.
• Partner with merchandising to forecast promotional impacts.
• Analyze forecast error, service levels and scrap to improve service and reduce scrap.
• Communicate with non-technical colleagues how the forecast is evolving with business changes.
• Manipulate and manage data sets with good governance.

Minimum Qualifications :

• APICS or other forecasting certification preferred.
• Bright, fast learner, experienced Excel user
• Demand planning and/or production planning experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office, VBA, SQL.
• Typical Experience: 2-5 years
