The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm CST

Location: 3809 W. Business 83, Harlingen, TX

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately schedules and coordinates patient appointments for assigned clinics
  • The ability to work in a high call volume environment while meeting productivity and quality standards
  • Analyzing provider schedules to ensure maximum capacity is met
  • Obtains eligibility and benefit information in a timely manner: assigning FSC (Financial Class) entering benefits and all other related activities i.e., transfers, demographic data changes in Electronic Clinical Works (ECW)
  • Registers patients in ECW including updating patient demographics, current insurance information, current primary care provider, emergency contacts, and all relevant fields
  • Uses appropriate text templates in the electronic health record, and ability to multitask between business office systems and the electronic health record
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience (retail or medical) including data entry
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to local locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of medical office experience including data entry
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
  • ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
