Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Department of Software Engineering and Game Development is a unit within the College of Computing and Software Engineering and represents fields at the forefront of high-impact developments. The department takes pride in our student-centered degree and certificate programs, which are enhanced by state-of-the-art instructional technology and applied research activities. The programs are of exceptional quality and are accessible to both traditional and non-traditional students. The department houses three programs totaling more than 1300 students. The Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Game Design and Development are both accredited by ABET. In addition, the Department offers an M.S. degree in Software Engineering, several undergraduate minors, and several graduate certificates. The Department also participates in the Ph.D. in Computer Science program. The department also oversees the First Year Experience (FYE) program that governs and manages the introductory programming sequence for all Computing majors in the College. The department has over 23 full-time faculty and 2 staff members. The faculty are successful in research and external funding activities in different fields of software engineering, game design, and augmented and virtual reality. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track Associate Professor or Professor of Software Engineering or Gaming and Associate Chair of the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development with a preferred start date of January 2025. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
- Teach in software engineering and/or game development at both undergraduate and graduate levels in various modalities including online hybrid or face-to-face as per department need.
- Develop and maintain an active and productive individual research agenda.
- Lead the department research development, including mentoring junior faculty on research and escalating the department research profile.
- Develop research collaborations with internal units and external institutions.
- Explore funding opportunities with federal, state, local and industrial stakeholders.
- Service in the Department, College, University, and or professional community is expected.
- Substitute for the department chair as needed.
- Carry out additional administrative duties as assigned by the chair.

Required Qualifications
- An earned Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in a computing discipline, such as Software Engineering, Computer Game Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Computer and/or Electrical Engineering is required.
- A well-established research record including a history of substantial external funding.
