Associate Quality Control Chemist (Laboratory)

The Associate Quality Control Chemist will accurately assign all incoming work to the Quality Control department according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. Responsibilities include the following: Manage the incoming workload for the labs as needed (withholding trackers if necessary) Improvements in the assigning process overall, whether through technology, process efficiency gains, or any other methods possible Make improvements in the paperwork, with a goal to reduce transcription errors Work with QC's "customers" to understand the process and work with them to reduce errors in the submission process Responsible for supporting laboratory testing as neededMaintain and improve the operating procedures that define the assigning process Learn the DLTR/MFBF/Dupe process in order to support the UD team as needed Be a resource for the Sampling team on site and be able to help with questions they may have Shift/hours: 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM, Wed - Sat Who you are: Minimum Qualifications: BS or BA Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other life science discipline ORHigh School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience in a chemical production or laboratory environment Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general scienceFamiliar with laboratory instruments and production equipmentIndependent chemistry lab researchProcess techniques and unit operations experienceExperience with analytical techniques and equipment Safe chemical handling methodsStrong communication skills, oral and written
