The Athletic Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating communication between the NMAA, athletes, families, teams we are competing with and the school. The AC works with coaches to build an athletic program that provides opportunities for student athletes to develop characteristics in line with our charter goals and policies. The main focus of athletics should be the development of integrity, character, and perseverance and the AC should lead the program with this mindset at the forefront of all activities related to athletics.

Primary responsibilities
Responsible for assessing the school's athletic program.
Responsible for administering all National Federation, New Mexico High School Activities Association, school district and building rules and regulations. Frequent meetings may be called to facilitate a smooth operation of these rules and regulations with coaches.
Responsible for the scheduling of all athletic contests, as cleared through the principals.
Attend the athletic events of MCS whenever possible.
Work with coaches and principals in problems of discipline concerning athletics. Will also maintain a file of all athletic suspensions and expulsions from teams in regard to giving each athlete "due process".
Responsible for the coordination and planning of athletic budgets.
In conjunction with the coaches and business office, will arrange transportation of all athletic teams.
Coordinate the use of all school athletic facilities by groups outside the school with the respective building principal.
Maintain an active program that promotes sportsmanship and welcome the competing teams and guests.
Communicates regularly with school administration, athletes, and families.
Evaluates all head coaches and makes recommendations for identifying, offering volunteer positions, and renewals/no- renewals in cooperation with MCS administration.
Meets regularly with the school principal and coaches.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or Principal.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed predominantly in an indoor environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor, and lifting up to 15 pounds. Some outdoor supervisory tasks may also be required.
