The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, together with the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include providing both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care at Jesse Brown VAMC and affiliated locations. Specialty focus areas will include wound care, Occupational Medicine, and complementary medicine practices. The care will involve primarily patients with a variety of neurological and medically complex conditions requiring rehabilitation, and some musculoskeletal conditions as well. This individual will assume responsibility for patients' clinical quality, safety, outcomes and satisfaction; actively participate in assigned Hospital and Department Committee work; and participate in research and in medical education activities, including teaching medical students and residents.

Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice medicine in any state in the US; have successfully completed an accredited residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation; be Board certified or Board eligible in PM&R, have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, important referring parties, hospital leaders, treatment team members and staff; and have strong skills to communicate effectively. Preference will be given to candidates who have additional training and experience in Occupational Medicine, wound care, and complementary medicine practices, and who have current physician appointment at a VAMC.

The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.

This position involves employment at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and a faculty appointment at NU. The initial application is done on-line with Northwestern University, but will also be reviewed by staff at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
