Piper Companies is looking for an Attending Veterinarian to oversee an Animal Care program for a Biotechnology company in Bedford, PA.

Responsibilities for the Attending Veterinarianinclude:
• Direct management of Animal Care and Use Program.
• Regular communication of program needs to the Institutional Official.
• Guidance to animal care staff on husbandry, housing, and environmental enrichment.
• Expertise in animal procurement, quarantine, stabilization, and biosecurity.
• Management of preventative medicine, health surveillance, and medical treatment.
• Adherence to Veterinary Care Program SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Guidance on potential adverse complications from experimental procedures.
• Coordination of veterinary care across all animal housing units.

Qualifications for the Attending Veterinarian include:
• DVM or VMD from an accredited college of veterinary medicine, or foreign equivalent required; Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation required
• Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with small ruminants
• Experience with cattle and rabbits preferred
• Farm animal husbandry background or experience a plus
• Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations
• Ability to give directions and communicate effectively

Compensation for the Attending Veterinarian include:
• $180,000
• FULL Relocation provided by company
