Piper Companies is currently seeking an Attending Veterinarian to support a Biotech company focused in creation and supply of biological reagents in Bedford, PA.
Responsibilities of the Attending Veterinarian
• Supervise preventive healthcare, medical treatment, sedation, and pain relief protocols, and handling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Veterinary Care Program SOPs and institutional standards.
• Advise on potential clinical complications from experimental procedures.
• Provide oversight for surgical programs and perioperative care.
• Coordinate veterinary care for all animal housing units.
• Diagnose, treat, and conduct necropsies; maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications of the Attending Veterinarian
• Candidate must possess a DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college, or its foreign equivalent.
• Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation are mandatory.
• Preference for Diplomate status with the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM).
• A minimum of 5 years' experience with small ruminants.
• Preferred experience with cattle and rabbits.
• A background or experience in farm animal husbandry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations is beneficial
Compensation for the Attending Veterinarian
• Salary range is commensurate with experience
