To help meet our mission, we are looking for an Audit Specialist to join our Administrative Services Team in the Sales & Marketing division.

As our Audit Specialist, you'll be the crucial link between internal and external auditors and various program units within the Sales & Marketing division. Utilizing working knowledge of a sales and marketing environment and experience in a consumer products industry, you'll track all audit activities, ensure smooth communication, draft responses, manage documentation, and play a key role in policy, process improvement, implementation, and risk assessment.

What You'll Do:
Be the Bridge:Serve as the divisional lead and project manager for all audit-related activities, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
Master of Documentation: Gather, organize, and provide essential information to auditors, maintaining accurate and timely records.
Problem Solver: Address and resolve issues identified during audits, working closely with departments to draft responses and implement corrective actions.
Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements, supporting the development of risk management strategies.
Process Improver: Help develop and refine policies and procedures, driving continuous improvement in audit readiness and compliance.

This position is headquartered at the Sacramento HQ and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: "telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Public Administration or a related field; At least 3 years experience in auditing, finance, project mgt, or related field (preferably in the facilitation, coordination and management of internal/external audit processes)
  • Knowledge of and experience with audit standards, governance, policy & procedures, controls, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements, preferably within CA state government
  • Working knowledge and/or experience in a sales and/or marketing environment, preferably in the consumer products industry
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness; including ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills; High level of integrity and professional ethics
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-motivated team player displaying a high degree of professionalism, with a positive attitude and the ability to handle confidential information
  • A critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be creative and innovative while exercising sound independent and professional judgment
  • Strong project management skills; Ability to execute and manage long and short term projects with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in developing managerial dashboards/reports, project management status reports, and KPIs/Metrics
  • Successful experience in complex policy review and development, including creating procedures and processes
