Description:

PacSci EMC, headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, is a leading explosives manufacturer. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our team. This role will be a key member of our equipment automation team and will be responsible for the development and qualification of new automation applications throughout our factory. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our automation journey, filling skill gaps and driving our automation roadmap forward.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and qualify new automation applications for our factory.

- Define and optimize parameters for automation systems.

- Document all aspects of the automation implementation process.

- Design electro-mechanical equipment with a focus on edge devices, machine learning, and vision system applications.

- Deploy automation systems on various platforms, including microcontrollers, SBCs, PLCs, and PCs.

- Utilize strong analytical skills and apply Design of Experiments principles.

- Communicate complex technical content in a simplified manner for customer review and acceptance.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in electro-mechanical equipment design and automation system deployment.

- Strong analytical skills and practical application of Design of Experiments.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in programming languages and software tools relevant to automation engineering.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Automation Engineering or a related field.

- Experience with machine learning and vision system applications.

- Familiarity with microcontroller platforms and software development.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Proven track record of successful automation system implementation.
