Automotive E/E Harness Design Release Engineer

Position Overview:

This positions serves LEONI's North American Series Development Department with design expertise to create and release harness designs in our customer's systems. The candidate should possess the capabilities to independently process E/E designs and to represent LEONI in front of our customers. This position reports directly to our Head of Harness Design in Troy, Michigan.

Job Profile Description

• Represent LEONI in our customer's vehicle project team
• Analyze customer designs/requirements and generate wiring harness design solutions
• Perform design analysis, ensure the design of the wiring systems is fully integrated within the vehicle
• Ensure that design guidelines are accurately reflected in every phase of the product
• Manage the design release process in our customer's systems
• Work with LEONI 3D and 2D designers to process harness designs and engineering changes internally
• Use and perform relevant methods and tools e.g. DFMEA, DFM, Design Reviews
• Create initial wiring harness parts list and complexity studies
• Liaison with manufacturing operations to ensure manufacturing feasibility
• Support build phases in harness manufacturing and vehicle assembly plants
• Support all customer meetings and requests

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive preferred)
• 3 years' experience in Automotive E/E Design
• 3 years release experience at Big 3 OEMs
• Basic knowledge of 3D CAD tools and E/E schematics
• Proficient English speaking and writing skills
• Good team work and interpersonal skills
• Problem solving skills
• Willingness to travel

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering related discipline
